  2. Contrast- all about difference

    Plotinius- enneads
-before existance/after existence is there a being or non being state?
-intial state of all things is 1
-frame is like a point is like the 1

Frame- in order to be understood reflects upon itself - when reflects 1 becomes 2

-In order for us to see a difference and understand it- must have CONTRAST

    Literal contrast- Good/Evil, Right/Wrong
    Abstrast contrast- Colors, sounds

    Context- defines thing and other
    - define eachother by relationship

Time based media always shows context- past, present and future

    Conflict- tension, opposition

Visualize your sound piece as a line- layers add richness

    Complete project by next Thursday

Context- begins to define both the thing and the other thing
    Concept- Idea
    Conflict- Tension- implies problem
    Conclusion- when conflict resolves itself

    **Contrast
    -Plotinus enneads
-Initial state of all things is one (like a frame)
-The one reflects upon itself and becomes two, the one and the one it sees
-Need ability for one 2 become 2 or more

Idea, NEED to have in order to do project
    Metaphors make interesting concepts

    **Conflict
    Tension- opposition
Contrast doesn’t need tension or opposition just a difference
    Implies a problem

    **Conclusion
    End, resolution to the problem

Can do 5 C’s in abstract or concrete
Concept not a story but an idea

For project, if you are 100% done before break, you will be able to revise over break.

    contrast
    context
    concept

contrast is what makes everyone/everything different.

    conclusion

contrast to understand anything 1 > 2 or more

  12. Contrast-important
Difference that defines one from another

one reflects upon one's self, and see's itself become 2, being both one and intelligence.

Context- abstract- symbol or index. Defines something by what is around it.

    Concept- an idea

Conflict- like contrast, but major difference is that conflict requires the opposition of two sides.

NMD not about tools, but about how we look at information

Look up Joseph albers "interaction of color"

    Conclusion- when conflect resolves itself.

Remember the 3-5 stack limit. 3-5 sounds played together is dynamic.
