Class went well today. We started a little late but that was no problem to me since Raph was there to discuss with us. I feel as though I am more confident then I have been in the past with this assignment. I finally feel like I have a grasp on what Raph wants in this and I am hoping that it will work out alright. I think that I won't have anything close to what I want to have on the due date of Thursday, but I will try my hardest to show the style that I want to go with. Hopefully everyone will come out with some cool pieces, and I am excited to see them all.
Today was interesting, i liked the way things went, I feel that alot of us really needed the insight into what Raph wanted us to do with this assignment. I personally feel a little better about how things are going to go, so I guess things went well overall.
Today's class really got me thinking about how I work on project and common things that I come across. For me the difference between plowing through or changing the idea completely is how far into the project I am. It was also helpful to see the steps in the creative process so I could see where I need to make sure I focus most of my time in the future. Overall a very though provoking class.
I think today's class provided the reassurance a lot us needed for this project in that we probably won't hit the mark next Thursday, but that's ok. As Raph said, he's more interested in getting us going through the process of investigation and saturation more than the finished product, which I think is very valuable. After hearing more on the creative process and how it relates to this project (and the class in general) I think I will have to go back and gather more sounds because I feel that I am limiting myself with what I have. Today's class while short, was very interesting and gave us hope for the midterm.
This was a good way to go about this class, I think, because I have been thinking about straying from my original piece. Now, though, I think that I may just trudge through my piece with what I have, and make note of the other ideas that come up along the way. That way, I can see what happens with this piece, but also leave myself open for reinvention later on, possibly over break. I'm excited to get going in the visual aspect of this, so far I have my audio basically finished and a storyboard mapped out for what I want to do. The limits put on us are difficult, but I think we are going to end up with some really interesting abstract pieces.
Class was good today, it wasn't loud and disruptive as usual if you catch my drift. Ahaha I'm an asshole and I don't care. We kind of took a refreshing step back and talked on a more logical level which was nice. Raphael was allover the place with the discussion but somehow it made more sense to me this time, maybe it was because I was shaking from a tall cup of coffee. I need to grind hard through this weekend and get a lot done so I feel better, I'm starting to conceptualize my idea much better now. Anyway good luck everyone, drink much and be...merry and shit.
odays class was a good one. It was really laid back and I feel like we didn't really do anything to piss off Raph. There was of course the ripping apart o the iPad that will happen while your in a room full of NMD kids. And then the lecture was interesting and it seemed like everyone was participating really well today. I think something that I really liked was the discussion on what makes a painting a painting, and how to translate that to the digital canvas.
After today's class i think i got an understanding of what raph wants from this project. While he's not expecting us to make the best piece he's ever seen, he'd be very happy to see us move forward and break out of our normal way of thinking with this piece. What i believe to be my solution is looking good, even though i haven't completed it. Breaking down the 7 steps was good for me as well, as i'd never thought of breaking down these steps to create a good idea. It makes a lot of sense.
