  5. Class notes 3/16/10

3 levels of our next piece
    Audio – already done
    Animated – already done
Live action- what we have to add
-how to put self in there, IMAGINATION

    **intention vs. perception

7 stages of process- Gestation, most important, should have done it over break

    compositing- overlapping images
    montage- sequencing images

Need to get from “here” to “there”

Journey from Reality to virtual world

    Here = reality
There = world of the piece – animated work and audio

Doesn’t matter what the technique is
Don’t just use it to use it, have a meaning behind it

Needs to be a reason for why we are in the piece that way – conceptual justification
Each scene should have one impulse behind it

    1. Begin “here”
    2. Transition
    3. You are in the world of the piece
    4. Interacting with the environment- highest level narrative thread
    5. Climax
    6. Declension
    7. Back to “here”

Beginning and end need to be separate from what we already have
Noises that you make are allowed but NO NEW ANNIMATION

Can be anything else you want

    FOR Thursday
