I didnt really take any notes today, but heres the little that I did write down
Transitions - how you get "from here to there" these need to be badass, or else raph is going to tear us a new asshole.
Storyboards - You must be able to communicate your ideas effectively through your storyboards. If you cant, it means you do not fully understand your idea. Even if you do.
So, not really a ton of notes, more just general thoughts on our reviews.
-NEED a good transition from here to there -NEED a storyboard that is easy to follow -DON'T say it'll be awesome and then show up with a P.O.S. -UNICORNS are awesome.
- Transition can't be falling asleep, you need to have something creative and meaningful. - Make sure you have an idea as to what you need you are doing in story, don't be wishy washy. - No class Tuesday most likely. Work on projects until Thurs.
Find a better way to get from here to there Find a better way to get back from there to here Don't say things like it'll be great Storyboarding for the final must be more in-depth Clearly show what will happen Unicorns?
Final storyboard must be in depth, detailing everything you want to convey in the piece. show what you want to happen, don't just say "it'll be great, just trust me." not gonna work.
I think the main point that Raph wanted us to take from the review of the storyboards is that if we can't explain our idea fully to another person than in reality we don't really understand our ideas fully either.
Transitions need to be more creative, falling asleep is cliche and overused
Final project storyboards need to be both clear and well-done

So basically a couple main ideas came out of today's class.
ReplyDelete-You need a good transition from the real world into the animated one. Falling asleep doesn't count.
-Storyboard/animatic needs to be able to clearly represent idea, so that if we died someone else to see what we were doing and go on making the piece.
**Can't say "don't worry about it, it will be great"
-Maybe class on Tuesday stay tuned.

Notes 3-25-10
ReplyDeleteNeed strong transitions into the piece in order for it to work
The Storyboard needs to make sense and deliver a narrative, the animatic has to clearly display how you transition into the piece.
Don't tell raph not to worry about it.
304 Notes- 3/25/10
ReplyDeleteNot many notes today like everyone else...

Most likely no class next Tuesday
no matter what, "it will turn out great" :)
story boards need to be clear of the artists intention
ReplyDeletebe able to explain your ideas, which should be taken care of by the story board
dont just have animation, include story board of everything that is going to happen in descriptive detail
have a clear transition that makes sense, no 'poofs' your there. falling asleep and dream state is too cliche.
-Animatics are animated story boards, if they take away from the storyboards ability to describe then they are a detriment.
ReplyDelete-Transitions have to be litteral. Basically blueskidoo we can too into the picture frame.
-Probably no class on tuesday
