audience wanted to be denied what they wanted
    music and language very different
    still find meaning in language
mind will fill in blanks in music and perception
can't do this with language because each word has its own meaning
science and art are not on the same level but both bring their own unique element to the table
both want to figure out how and why stuff works

    world was smaller back then
now it is easy to connect to people from all over
using computers doesn't make it scientific, it is just a different medium

    William Gibson- neuromancer
    predicted future
life imitates art just as much as art imitates life
    Religion art or science?

Science tries to describe mystery & dispel it
Art explores mystery and embraces it
Religion- gets you to accept mystery
