  1. once you experience something it becomes a memory. Every time you remember what experience your mind changes and thus it is fiction.

  2. Class Notes
    4/15/10

    memory- real vs unreal
Reality not as real as we thought
    what is reality?
more real- experienced event or video

    can we even remember?
"half of what i tell you is a lie, the other half is completely false"

why do we create replications of reality instead of just living in reality

    written vs. oral storytelling
    lock stories in book

book doesn't change - you do
    oral - story actually changes

sense of engagement is higher in oral storytelling or book

    next week shooting during class.

  8. Discussion on "Proust Was a Neuroscientist"
Memories- all memories are fiction and are altered by our environment and experiences.

    Think about:
Why as a culture are we obsessed with recreating this life?
Why do we creatr different narratives instead of choosing to experience our own life? second life good example

  9. our reality is flawed based on memory

how is video related, when specific event is recorded

experience from movies influence our dreams

it is the representations of experiences being fictionalized

why as a culture, so passionately drawn into creating representations, recreating

    how does this change?
locking our narratives in a movie rather our minds and verbally telling them

next week > work days at the maine channel do shots for final piece bring in progress work
